The Sonar Festival, one of Spain's main music events, has just announced its very first names for the approaching Festival.
Taking place over the weekend of June 17th - 19th into the Catalonian capital and Galicia, the Event will see Air and LCD Soundsystem on the stages this year with more to be introduced soon.
Of course music is not the only point Sonar is famous for visual art, films, unique audio/visual DJ sets and a whole smorgasbord worth of additional multimedia based treats taking place all across the weekend.
Sonar is one of Europe’s first electronic music and audiovisual art festival and takes place in the Catalonian capital every June. The Sonar Festival Barcelona has in latest years turn out to be one of the world’s most respected electronic music festivals, attracting thousands of DJs, record labels, artists and music fans to the Catalonian capital every year. This year's Sonar Advanced Music and MultiMedia festival even has a parallel version in Spanish town La Coruña. Latest news: Grec-Sonar night. The Sonar festival joins forces with Grec festival on Thursday 17th June for a light audiovisual show that will light up the the Catalonian capital night sky by Japanese composer and visual artist Ryoji Ikeda. Sonar Kids. The second edition of Sonar for Young people also takes place this year but has become a separate event on 12 and 13th of June which is a week sooner than the Sonar Festival.
