Culture and Buildings
Barcelona is a city steeped in culture and history, so if it's some sight-seeing you are after then you have come to the best place. Barcelona is most recognized for the fascinating architecture of Antonio Gaudi, whose building are spread out all round the centre of the city. The most prominent and awesome can be seen along Passieg De Gracia where you will discover La Pedrera and Casa Batlló . Or head to the Parc Guell which is a wonderful park designed by the man himself. On the other hand the most awesome of Gaudi´s pieces is undisputedly the Sagrada Familia, the massive, still unfinished temple
Besides Gaudi, Barcelona does put forward a ton in terms of architectural brilliancy. The Gothic Cathedral in the central part of the Gothic quarter is a must do. Just wandering about Barcelona you will encounter a lot of attractive buildings, and also get off Las Ramblas, there is so much more to see just 2 minutes either side of this legendary street.
Gastronomy
Barcelona has great food, there is certainly no uncertainty about it. You can get anything you want from intercontinental food to Catalan favourites, tapas to seafood platters. All you need to do is look around, there are loads of very reasonably priced restaurants, as well as some very expensive ones. People here eat late, lunch is ordinarily at 14:00 and dinner at 22:00, for dinner it is normally recommended to book a table.
Tapas is specifically good around Barceloneta, this was initially a fishing village and you'll find still countless quaint modest local places where you can get fresh seafood tapas for inexpensive prices.

Things to do in Barcelona for Families
Barcelona is a child-friendly city and you can find tons that children will enjoy. For instance there's the Zoo in Parc Ciutadella, the zoo is large and will provide a days easy enjoyment for kids and adults. Or there is the aquarium which is the largest in Europe and is always entertaining.
Another good attraction for kids is Poble Espanyol located on Montjuic, just up from Placa Espanya. Poble Espanyol is an odd place, a village built in 1929 to reproduce the distinctive designs of Spanish typical architecture. You'll find plenty of craft shops, and activities you can watch such as glass-blowing. Often there are also childrens only activities where you can leave the young ones for a few hours, last time I was there it was stilt-walking! And whilst you are in the Montjuic area don't fail to see the magical fountain of Montjuic, a music and light show.
Parents might well like this a lot more than children but there's also a chocolate museum near Arc de Triomph that will demonstrate you the history of chocolate and end in a store and café where you can have a rest and have a hot chocolate.
Things to do in Barcelona for Couples
Paris is probably the headquarters of love but Barcelona doesn't do badly for those with romance on the mind. There's the Barcelona beaches, the balconies looking over the streets below, high-quality food and fine wine!
If it's good weather you could head to Parc Ciutadella which is a sizeable leafy park where one may hire pedaloes and go onto the lake.
If that's too strenuous for you then how about going up to Tibidabo where there exists a bar which overlooks the whole city. The bar is called Mirablau and is wonderful for an early evening cocktail.
Don't disregard you may view the sights in style from your own horse and carriage, they could typically be found at the bottom of Las Ramblas.
