The days of emergency medical airlifts from Guanacaste to San Jose for top hospital treatment will soon be gone. Sources in the surgery have informed Health Check Costa Rica that the Surgery Cima project in Liberia Guanacaste plans to open their doors in Feb 2012. Construction of the first phase of the hospice project is all but complete and the hospice is in the act of moving in apparatus for a February opening. The hospital will be starting with only around 10 beds but will be the 1st Joint Commission International Infirmary to open their doors in Guanacaste which is a region known often for pristine beaches, and a tourism dependent economy.
