Keep Safe - Prepare Your Domicile With Burglar Alarm System For Better Rest
Burglar Alarms are Money Well Spent
Some people tell me I am a little paranoid, since I have went through a lot of burglar alarm systems over the years trying to protect my belongings and mainly my family. But to me, a few dollars and a little effort is an easy expense to pay for defense and protection.
Even as a college freshman, I was mildly fanatical about home security. I did not have much, and what I did have was essentially rubbish. A typical, broke college kid – I bought most of my stuff from thrift stores and rummage sales. But I was a movie nut so I got a sweet new television and a VCR. It is odd, since today I could not give away a VCR, but at that time they were expensive. My little studio – being cheap – was in a very iffy end of town so the threat of a burglary was always present. I was sure no one could get in through the windows because they were all welded shut with decades of paint, so I mainly just worried about the front and back doors.
Since my budget was very limited, my first home burglar alarm was a pair of self-contained door alarms. These are still widely available – they are sort of like rubber doorstops and they go on the floor so that if the door is opened it presses down on a small plate, making the alarm scream out. Pretty basic – but I never missed any sleep.
When me and my wife got married and really began to acquire good stuff – as well as a couple children – I fully understood the significance of a real burglar alarm system. At first, like most young families we had to scrimp and save so our home security system needed to be pretty inexpensive but give us a lot of protection. Four motion detectors focused on entryways, and a little control panel allowed me to make sure everything was secure while we were gone as well as guarding us when we were in bed. Again, nothing fancy but a lot of security.
Now, the children are all grown, but me and my wife are still in the house and now we have a lot of nicer items. The lousy economy raised my worries that people might start turning to crime so I decided we needed more protection. These days, if you want to deter a burglar security alarms are the wisest choice. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, crooks can pick just about any lock and if an alarm does not scare them away, once they are in they take whatever they want. These new burglar alarm systems are incredibly functional. I can completely control and monitor ours from a cell phone or laptop from anyplace.
