Kids Soccer Drills: Want To Know What Not To Do

It’s not wrong that in Kids Soccer Drills, coaches are very much responsible for the downfall of the players as a team because of some errors. Yes, it is true. Lot of people must be busy finding out the big reason responsible for a team’s such great downfall. Well then, the bad news is that they are many.

When it comes to soccer drills for kids, you have to be very careful and strategic. It’s very important for you know the kid’s psychology. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But unfortunately, many coaches are unprepared to adjust to it. They conveniently ignore fact that there is a disparity between training grown-up players and kids.

So here it is; top mistakes or sins as I call them that coaches make and put their teams on a losing track.

1. Many coaches take their jobs for granted. They don’t arrange the drills, refuse to plan their sessions, and are always late in getting to the field. Such behavior is bad and also has the potential to sadden the kids. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Plan the youth soccer drills in advance. If you need certain equipment to carry out the drills, arrange it before hand.

Always be prompt. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. Actually, be there when the kids get there. It provides you some spare time to review the drills and organize things better.

2. When coaches give instructions for kids soccer drills, they get so carried away by their emotions that they keep going on and on. Can you believe how boring that can be? You must realize that players are more interested in playing than hearing. Keep the lecture short and sweet. Use this opportunity to talk to the kids about the strategy and styles that the kids should learn.

It is extremely vital that the kids are not interrupted while playing. If the kids do anything incorrectly, make a note of it and share it afterwards. And stand outside the field when the kids are playing.

3. Some coaches tend to get emotional or abusive with the players. In soccer drills for youth, this can prove to be catastrophic. It is bad to display weak behaviour on the soccer field. It is natural for the kids to make errors on the field. Do not forget that they are children. Never take things very critically and make it an excuse to get bad with the players.

In such a situation, you disengage the kids from the game and also create problems for yourself. Soccer is a game of the mind. When you help the kids know the meaning of it, they will love the game.

Do yourself a favor and avoid these sins in kids soccer drills at all costs. If you would like information on what you should or shouldn’t do, join our youth soccer coaching community. This will dramatically improve your knowledge and skills.
