Lanzarote Holiday Time

Of all the hotspots around Europe, the Canary Islands are probably the most reliable for year round good weather. This is thanks to their location off the coast of Morocco, making them the most southerly port of call in the whole Eurozone, but the island that stands out from most is Lanzarote.

The seven islands that make up the Canaries are segregated into two main areas. The western Canaries - which revolve around the main island of Tenerife and which also include El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma.

And of course the eastern Canaries - which are governed from Gran Canaria and which also encompasses Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Flights to Lanzarote

Booking a break in Lanzarote is simple. There are loads of cheap flights to Lanzarote thanks to the fact that low cost airlines operate services from across the UK. And finding good value accommodation is also simple – as there are thousands of well priced villas and apartments available for rent as well as over 200 hotels to choose from. Hotels in Lanzarote

There are plenty of spots on Lanzarote that lie well off the beaten track as this unique little island is home to an abundance of beauty spots as well as a wide array of attractions developed by the local artist César Manrique. Along with lots of historic little villages and towns such as Teguise.

The year kicks off in Lanzarote in style with the Canarian Music Festival, the annual Festival de Musica Canarias. This is a prestigious event that is staged throughout all the island in the archipelago, offering visitors and the musical enthusiasts amongst you a showcase of contemporary classics. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy some of the best classical music sounds around as Lanzarote plays host to world class performers such as The Prague National Chamber Theatre Orchestra.

If you need car hire in Lanzarote this is reasonably priced too so it's easy and affordable, and there is no excuse to get out and about and real taste the culture of the island by enjoying one or more of the many local fiestas and festivals taking place throughout the season. Lanzarote car hire

Accommodation does get booked up especially in the high season as returning visitors often have there favourite villas and apartments so its not unusual to see the best examples snapped up early in the season but fortunately with the depth of quality of villas available even if you don't get your first choice you will seldom if ever be disappointed.

The island is home to three main resorts. As well as the emerging marina of Puerto Calero – where visitors will find two upmarket hotels and an abundance of expensive yachts and craft from around the world. Playa Blanca is a hot destination in recent years and holiday villas in Playa Blanca have become very popular with tourists over the last few years, as they offer decent value for money. And are the best choice during the winter months when the climate here is more favourable than elsewhere on the island.

Puerto del Carmen is as popular as ever if your planning to visit as it offers sun.sea and plenty of sand. But one of the most enjoyable aspects of a holiday is of course not having to do the cooking and with an extensive range of restaurants with culinary delights from all over the globe, eating out in the evening is a positive joy. The restaurants are well spread around the resort area but if you like fish and a Canarian atmosphere head down to the old harbour and you won't be disappointed in the slightest.

Lanzarote can be enjoyed as a holiday destination at any time of the year. But some months are better than others with the most unreliable weather usually experienced during February and March, although the climate is still mild even then.
