Moving To The City Of Mumbai
The city of Mumbai is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the most populated city in all of India and is also the second largest city in the world, in terms of population. Lying on the coast of India, Mumbai has nearly 14 million people. There are seven colonies, fishing communities, that make up the city of Mumbai. India became an independent country in 1947 after years of being controlled by other countries. Shortly after this, the city of Bombay became the capital city of India. The city was renamed Mumbai in 1995.
The climate of Mumbai is tropical with seven months of dryness that ends with extreme rains in July. The cold season is from December from February, which is followed by the summer season from March to June. From June until November, the country experiences monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. The average rainfall is 85 inches while the average temperature is 81 degrees Fahrenheit.
While moving to India may not have been considered a few years ago, the country has grown into one of the most powerful global nations, both in economics and politics. More people are moving into the larger cities of India, including Mumbai, because many United States businesses are moving their offices into India. Mumbai is the financial and commercial capital of India and is a major economic hub of the country as well.
Mumbai has a diversified culture with traditional theaters, food, music and festivals. The food, entertainment and night life is full of variety, much like you would find in any other metropolitan city of the world. Because of the large migration of people to India during the British period, there is a large blend of cultures.
There are two types of schools in Mumbai – municipal schools run by the government and private schools that are run by individuals or trusts. The two languages used in the schools are either Marathi or English. Unfortunately, the schools run by the government lack many facilities, but they are the only option for residents who can’t afford the private schools. Two prominent research institutions in Mumbai are the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Also in Mumbai is the Sir J.J. School of Art, the oldest art institution in the city.
If you are considering moving to India, you will need to do a lot of preparation. You need to begin thinking about what you want to take to India with you, as you go through things in your home. As you sort through your belongings, you will find many things that you can throw away. You may even want to sell some things or give them away. Of course, moving more things will cost more money, so it's a matter of deciding what is most important to you.
Once you have a general idea of what you want to take with you, you need to call an international moving company. You will need to ask questions about what services they offer. They will need to know where you are moving, when you are moving and what you plan to take with you. It's important to let them know if you plan to take a vehicle as well. You need to find out how long they have been operating as a business, what type of insurance they offer and the names of some previous customers. In fact, it’s a really good idea to get this information from at least three international moving companies so you can compare them.
Moving is always exciting, but stressful in some ways too. Your move can be easier if you learn more about India, including the customs and language. As you prepare for your moving adventure, finding a reliable international moving company will make everything go more smoothly.
