The main resorts here each boast their share of palm fringed playas, as well as a good range of facilities to meet the demands of locals and visitors alike so you'll be well catered for on all fronts.

Car hire in Lanzarote will give you excellent flexibility and will enable you to see much of the island.

If you are travelling independently then ensure that you book your accommodation in advance to be on the safe side, but even though hundreds of thousands of travellers and amongst them British tourists will be enjoying a holiday break on the island during the course of the upcoming year, and approximately half of these opting to stay in self catering accommodation and apartments there is still ample accommodation to go round. Over the course of its history, Puerto del Carmen has been transformed from a small village surrounding a harbour to a tourist destination.
