The Villages Florida Town Squares- An Amazing Experience By Itself

I remember the very first time I stopped at one of The Villages Florida Town Squares.

It was just about 10 years ago, just a couple days after moving my family 900 miles to relish the beauty as well as activity of Florida. We understood nothing at all about it and were actually just looking for a place to eat.

Imagine the surprise once we discovered throngs of people, golf carts, pet dogs with leashes and complete uniqueness. We marveled at the turn of the century appearance of the buildings, all the immaculate landscaping, and the cobblestone sidewalks.

The roadways ended up abuzz with stores and eateries doing brisk business. However, the hub of activity was at the actual square. Comparable to old-time downtowns, The Villages sports a square area right in the middle of the buildings having a one way street completely around it. There is a gazebo in the center in which live popular music is played nightly, while the exterior is considered a dancing floor as well as resting area for vistors. Plus don’t forget the happy hour beverage specials which seem to be continuous.

The Villages actually boasts two squares, Spanish Springs that was the original and Lake Sumter Landing, that's larger and features beautiful lake views. Additionally, a new square is currently being constructed on the southern end of the massive development and guarantees to even best the first 2.

So why do I like the town squares so much?

Well, it’s very simple. There is simply no other spot like it. I love eating at one of the many great eating places then walking up and down the streets enjoying the scenery and smells. Ultimately, I will end up sitting in a seat observing the dancers shredding the dancing floor. Line dancing is huge in the neighborhood thus there are a few really serious line dancers that appear to dance every tune the same.

The nighttime activity is totally free and generally first-rate. I enjoy older music and can often hear some of my personal favorites whilst unwinding by having a cold beverage.

For those who have never entered into The Villages Florida and spent an night at one of the town squares, then you will be missing out on a great experience!
