Tips About Getting An Overnight Passport

People often find themselves in a rush when it comes to travel plans, particularly when they happen to be going out of town or going to a variety of places. It's also common for last minute travel plans to arise, especially if you happen to work within the business world. One issue that can be a problem is having a passport ready by the time a person's supposed to travel, which is why some turn to overnight passport methods.

Documentation

These days, there are various ways to get your documentation, such as through the mail or in person. However, a lot will also depend heavily on what your goals are and how much you can afford. Things will also depend on several circumstances, such as the amount of time that's passed since your last passport was issued.

Options

The least expensive option you have is to apply for standard processing, which you can do in person or through the mail. This usually takes anywhere between four to six weeks. The second option is to have your document processing expedited, which takes about two to three weeks and will cost an additional fee. This can be ideal for those who need their documents delivered sooner than four weeks.

Expedited Processing

Those who need a foreign work visa in less than four weeks or those who need a passport in less than two weeks will need to visit the Regional Passport Agency. However, those who are able to have their items expedited also have the option of having their items deliver to them through overnight delivery. This can be an ideal way to cut down on delivery time and will cost a small fee. You can do the same if you have a damaged passport.

Exceptions

Several factors may contribute to the way you apply for a passport. For instance, if you were under 16 and your document was issued more than 15 years prior, you will need to apply for your book in person. The same can also be said for those who are currently 16 or if their book was lost or damaged.

Necessary Documents

If you need or prefer to process your paperwork in person, you'll need to fill out a special form and sign it while you're with the agent. This is in comparison to mail-in forms, which can be signed off-site. You will also need to have your photos in order, a photo ID and a birth certificate or proof of citizenship.

Quick Delivery

Sometimes, having documents expedited isn't always enough. It's often the case where people need a faster turnaround time in order to have a successful trip. In situations like this, many people will turn to a professional company or agency that specializes in speedy processing.

Overnight Delivery

Individuals who need their book quickly may have to pay significantly more. However, many agencies are able to provide these services within a very short amount of time. In fact, some can process your paperwork within a 48-hour period or less and will provide overnight expedited passport delivery. This process is similar if you are replacing a damaged pas port.
