When Moving Jobs, What are the Advantages of Serviced Apartments?
With about a 50-50 split between short term stay and long term stay residents at our serviced apartments which category do you think achieves the most benefit from booking serviced accommodation compared to the main alternatives: letting from a private landlord or staying in a hotel?
Short term stay: serviced accommodation compared to hotels
When you book in to a hotel, everything is simple and provided for you: soft fluffy bath towels, beds made, breakfast waiting for you in the morning. They are ideally suited to one or two night stays. If you remain for longer, though, you might appreciate a little more living space. You might even appreciate the chance to cook your own dinner one night, or eat your own food at breakfast time in preference to the rich food that the hotel restaurant happens to provide. You can also extend yourself out a bit more:
- put a couple of bottles of wine (your own choice) in the fridge
- eat when you like
- put your stuff in the cupboards
Comparing the two grows increasingly interesting when you note that serviced accommodation is generally priced lower than a comparable hotel, despite the additional space and complementary services on offer.
Long term stay: serviced apartments versus rental apartments or hotels
If staying anywhere more than seven nights, it's not just living space that becomes important: the most suitable accommodation will also give you plentiful storage space, not something that hotels are renowned for. Living in own apartment for as long as you stay permits you to feel less squashed. There's no cramp on your lifestyle time-wise, food-wise or space-wise. You're able to do things your own way, helping you feel less stressed.
Compared to renting, serviced apartments uk allow you to bask in luxury whilst also making you feel more as if in your own home than a hotel as the weeks slip by. E.g. apart from doing your own cooking you could also be happy to do your own laundry in the washer-driers provided in every kitchen.
The trouble with renting a private apartment are that you normally have to take a property for at least 6 months, and you are left to supply your own services (gas and electricity and sometimes broadband too). It is hardly surprising that for stays of over a week and under a half year, serviced accommodation has become the most popular choice for leisure and business visitors to towns and cities throughout the UK and Europe.
